"I think I want to kiss you," she whispers.
Loid takes a sharp inhale, mesmerized by her sparkling wine eyes burning a hole in his bottom lip.
"Is that normal," she breathes, barely audible.
"That's normal," Loid assures back. It's not. Nothing about this, about them, is normal.
Yor nods, the tiniest movement of her head, eyes never leaving his lips. "Does it ever go away?" she asks, innocently. Like this could be an illness, a temporary affliction that will pass out of her system.
Loid exhales slowly. "God I hope not."
Or, in this alternate universe, Twilight and Thorn Princess meet long before Loid and Yor. Circumstances around them shape their lives in ways they never expected.

“What I’m saying is, I need a favor from you. I need you to protect this girl while we put an end to this.”
“I’m retired—by your orders, Handler—I don’t do missions anymore.”
“I know, but you’re still the best agent we ever had. You’re the only one I trust to keep her safe.”
“I’m an unemployed bachelor living alone out in the middle of nowhere. That’s hardly a good environment for a kid.”
“It won’t be that long, just a few months at most. You don’t need to raise her, for crying out loud, just make sure she stays alive and well. We’ll compensate you and everything,” the Handler says.
“What if I say no?”
A futile question.
“Ultimately, I can’t force you to do anything anymore,” she says, “But the poor kid has been through so much. I’m asking you as a friend to protect this little girl.”
She sucks in a breath and holds it, as if debating to say what’s on her mind.
“You fought so children could have a safe world to grow up in, right?” Her voice is gentle and sincere. “Please, Twilight, she needs that world more than ever.”

Yuri did not have an idea why he said that out loud. Him? A mother to a child? That was the biggest joke he had ever declared in his life. He was not even a woman to start with so what the hell was he saying?
But what was he supposed to do after accidentally hearing Yor and Loid talking about faking their marriage?
He would do anything to keep this pesky handsome, intelligent and perfect blonde man away from his sister. Most important of all, Yuri would do anything to protect his sister’s purity, even if meant marrying Loid Forger and being a ‘mother’ to his snotty chihuahua kid.
