Summary
Caitlyn Kirraman and Violet Lane have recently taken up new positions as special advisers to Mel Medarda MP, Secretary of State for the Department of Technology and MP for the Piltover constituency.
A daughter of a Conservative Lord, Caitlyn is a try-hard, keen young SpAd who takes every single instruction as serious as if she was PM. Fueled by a crippling addiction to caffeine, she works herself to the bone even though her official responsibilities put her more in charge of the tea run than a focus group.
She clashes with Violet, ‘Vi’, Lanes, also a SpAd. Her career in politics came after her experience growing up in care with her foster siblings and she seeks to make real, personal change, and cares little about the conventions in the Department.
Vi finds Caitlyn insufferable, out of touch, and detests her impersonal approach to real people’s lives through her obsession with research, statistics, and polling. Caitlyn, in return, finds Vi brash and too lax with the unspoken rules at Whitehall.
In attempting to toe the party line, the pair blur the line of hatred and attraction.
