Eddie frowned and his head swivelled around when he heard the shout. Whoever that was, they didn’t sound happy.
He took a drag of his cigarette, before dropping it to the ground, scrubbing it with his foot, and started to move. Leaving behind the building’s shadow as he made his way further out into the parking lot, shifting between the parked cars of the Hideout as he followed the sound of angry voices.
He paused as he came around the side of a car, his surprise at the scene in front of him making him freeze, Steve Harrington was possibly the last person he expected to see in the Hideout’s parking lot at 11pm.

His face was twisted into a scowl as he glared at Steve with everything he had, but when Steve met those big, beautiful, hazel eyes, he didn’t see the anger or viciousness he was clearly trying to portray, he just looked so scared.
And Steve’s heart went out to him.
It was probably foolish, the guy had him pinned to the wall in his own garage with something sharp pressed against the soft skin of his neck. And yet, the pain and fear he could see in this stranger’s eyes made him just want to gather him close in a hug and let him know that it would all be okay.
God, Robin and Max had always said that his bleeding heart would be the death of him.

He was running as fast as he could through the forest, his thin shift getting caught on branches and brambles as he fled. He ignored the sharp stabs of pain in his bare feet as he caught rocks and tree roots underfoot, it didn’t matter about that temporary pain; if he was caught by those alphas again he would be in a for much worse pain, with no end in sight other than death.

Seriously, it’s like he’s got a Disney princess thing going on with the big eyes and the long hair and the full lips. Except he’s kind of gangly and his cheeks are flushed, there’s a distinct smell of weed wafting out from behind him, and he’s wearing a Weird Al shirt with Garfield boxers and mismatched socks. There’s a hole in one of them and his big toe is sticking out.
He actually looks like a total loser.

That’s why, when Dustin appears in Steve and Eddie’s flat in a mood, his brow furrowed and mouth screaming curses and insults towards them, Steve’s first reaction is to check if Eddie is still there.
The last time Dustin was angry like this was because he had lost Eddie. They all had. Steve had lost Eddie, and panic rises through Steve’s trembling body. But Eddie appears from his music studio at home, yelling back at Dustin about modals.
Eddie hugs Dustin even if Dustin tries to fight it off - badly feigned --, and Eddie smiles at Steve, with Dustin’s head in his arm in a grip.
“See, Harrington?” Eddie laughs at Dustin’s weak attempts to escape his hold. “Have kids, they said. It’ll be amazing, they said. And they come home like this!”
“I’m not your son, you b-”
“Dustin Strawberry Henderson-Munson-Harrington! Watch your mouth!”
“That’s not my second name!”
“Your mom and I-”
“Do not mention my mom!”
“Your mom Steve and I didn’t raise you for you to be a little shit!” Eddie laughs loudly, and Steve’s heartbeat starts to calm down, watching them play like this. He doesn’t even mind that his last name was the last on Eddie’s list of surnames.
