Summary
It was a silent, heavy ripple, like a drop of ink spreading through clear water. A cosmic entity, vast and profoundly uncomprehending of the linear nature of human lives, had briefly looked down, felt a sudden pang of ancient guilt for the endless tragedies it had woven into one specific soul, and attempted a clumsy, well-meaning repair.
The Ignorant God had not meant to hurt humanity, it did not know it had until it met one, spoke with it, seemingly killed it. so it reached back perhaps further than it meant to, and plucked the human out of it's suffering, dropping it somewhere better. Into the kitchen of one Ryland Grace.
Grace comes home from class to find a human child in his kitchen on Erid, a child who also happens to be his husband's past self.

Ryland Grace is basically a genius. But he is not a genius at making friends.
So when he is sent to a new public school and finds an excitable friend he is surprised. He is even more surprised when he and the even newer and more broody student begin to bond.
Or Grace, Rocky, and Simon go to the same high school and shenanigans ensue.

Summary
Right as Simon's ship is torn apart at the end of Iron Lung, he is transported through time and space and is dropped off on the floor of the Hail Mary (much to Grace and Rocky's horror and disgust-- the blood is EVERYWHERE!!). When Simon finally comes to, they're going to have to figure out how to live with each other-- and maybe, just maybe, learn how to be friends. (and maybe a little bit more than that...)
This fic also occurs closer to the end of the Hail Mary's voyage back to Erid-- food and resources are getting low. I'd like for them to get there eventually(?) but we'll see how it goes.
This work has silly moments!!!! But it will also be sad and scary!!!!!! They are tiny little beings floating through space!!!!!! I'd be so anxious all the time!!!!!!!!!
