Summary
In a world of humans, hybrids are rarely respected. Few survive the experimentation that created them, and those that do just want the nightmares to stop. But Jake was never one to back down in the face of night terrors or pain beyond what any person should endure. No, instead of hiding away and rotting, he joined the military, rising through the ranks despite the discrimination, the blatant favouritism, the abuse. He made a name for himself, and eventually became the leader of his own task force of hybrids, all old friends from back in the lab. He didn’t trust anyone else, which only made things all the more complicated when the higher ups wanted a human among his ranks, he knew he wasn’t trusted. His team welcomed Foxglove (Reader) with varying levels of hostility, but begrudgingly came to the conclusion that they were no threat to them. That didn’t make them any less cold though.
Task force 141, one of the best task forces there were, caught wind of the hybrid team. And with their current mission, take down the organisation responsible for the experimentation of humans to create supersoldiers, Price thought that Jake's team would be interested in having a piece of the action.
