“Well,” he started, and his heart broke when he got a glimpse of her tear-streaked face. He hoped his smile was reassuring. “I can tell you stories about papa, and maybe we can convince dad to tell us more about him. Who knows, maybe we can listen to sappy stories of dad and papa, with all the kisses and stuff,” he made kissy faces to the air and she giggled.
“Nii-san, that’s so cringe,” she squealed and tried to push him off when he tried to pull her in a bear hug. “Come on, Aki! Give your nii-san a hug first, then I’ll tell you about papa.”
