Dick grits his teeth. He knows he can face this horror. He's done death defying stunts as a Flying Grayson for as long as he could remember. He's gone head to head with Scarecrow, Two Face, the Joker, all of Gotham’s rogues. He can handle this. He is Robin.
“Come on, Artemis!” Dick’s supposed best friend Wally whines. “You have to answer! Fuck, Marry, Kill: Summer Gleason, Bruce Wayne, and Paul Sloane.”
Dick is going to kill Wally. He can’t even glare at Wally like he wants to; Bruce would kill him if he gave away their secret identities. He can do this. He just has to stay whelmed.

“People like me now and I hate it.” A gruff, almost growl of a voice says from behind him. Jaskier jumps out of his skin and into the rafters. He was startled sure, but also whoever had just spoken most certainly just saw him put bread in his pants.
“Beg pardon?” He manages to get out and he turns around. Oh oh. It’s the gorgeous man, his muse, the one he just sang a song about without permission in front of a crowd. The one whose forearm was thicker than his neck. The one whose thighs, Jaskier stopped that train of thought before it could begin.

Bruce places both hands on his shoulders, "Don't apologise. Just breathe with me."
Jason takes a deep breath in, matching Bruce's unshakeable calmness. It's the first time in a long time that Jason feels like he can actually breathe.
(Jason survives Ethiopia and returns home; this is the beginning.)
