Howwwwww on earth is this not bookmarked? When it stuck with me so strongly I literally used it as part of the description of 'Dean is the Child of'?
I've been searching for it for dayssss, tried filtering and googling and ended up going to reddit and no luck. Then I randomly come across it when going to reread a fic from another author I like and randomly decided to check their other profile that isn't even linked to the profile they wrote the fic in but just used it to reply on the fic, and then decided to look through the bookmarks of that profile and by pure chance they had this fic bookmarked and I immediately knew this is it
(Huh. I wasn't even trying to make a joke, I was just stuck on how much of a lucky coincidence this was especially as I happened to come across it mere days after I began looking for it again? But the author that helped me find it literally has random in their username lmfao)Anyways. Bookmarking the heck out of it!
Like this fic legit stuck with me so strongly and while I managed to find the few others that stuck with me as they played with similar concepts (yet not at the same time, but the whole Dean and or Dean and Sam raised by an Angel), even the few that for some reason I didn't bookmark as well (dumbass me from years ago that didn't b o o k m a r k shit), I couldn't find this one and it devasted meTy Reddit! Summary
A/U to Dean’s stay in Hell. Dean/Lucifer. No matter what Alastair does, Dean doesn’t crack. His eyes burn with defiance and his soul stays bright, almost unnaturally so. He’s been named the Righteous Man by lower demons and even Alastair seems to be annoyed he can’t get this one puny human soul to break. Lucifer...well, he’s intrigued.
Or that one fic where Dean makes a deal to save Sam and goes to hell to meet the devil, only to learn that the devil isn't the incarnation of all evil like everyone thinks he is, they get out of hell together, become allies (maybe a little more) and fight the apocalypse together with the help of a jaded hunter, the devil's ex vessel and a lost ex soldier of heaven who's still conflicted on what's right and wrong. Good thing Dean's there to try and keep everything together...

I recall really liking this
Meh just for another filtering, ' Vessel-Dean ' in which Dean (can be others as well but Dean has to) houses an angel for more than a tiny amount of time and it has some sort of influence on the story, and isn't just a short mention.
It can be both good or bad, as I recall seeing different variations
This also allows me to group together different kind of angels rather than just Michael/Lucifer etcSince my brain cannot stop being a bitch;

Didn't want to go for Dee's Hell on the off chance I want something focused on Hell in the future.
Regardless, this is supposed to focus on fics where Dean's time in Hell is different, starts differently, ends differently, etc.
Got several different concepts in mind (Dean getting dragged to Hell earlier, Dean getting sent to Hell without making a Deal, Dean escaping Hell, Dean coming back from Hell as a Demon, Dean gets saved from Hell through a different way, etc)
I do want to be able to see some of the Hell time to know it's different from canon if I'm not tagging it for Dean getting into/out of Hell for uncanon reasons.
And no I don't mean fics that focus on Dean's time in Hell/getting tortured/etc
Hmm for example I can now remember some funny/weird fics. One with parts of Dean's and Sam's Souls in Hell, and sure I'll count that because that part is from Dean's stay in Hell.
Another with demons complaining to their parents for the trouble they cause, mainly Sam teaching souls and stuff legal stuff. It might have been the same fic tbh
Just. Fuck it also uncanonlike things with Dean in Hell too.

“The same reason you always tell Alastair to fuck off,” Lucifer told him bluntly, crossing one leg over the other as he got comfortable.Winchester looked at him for a second before he barked a laugh, obviously surprised by what the devil just said. “Sorry. I don’t normally hear you curse,” Winchester said once he calmed down. “It’s a little weird.”
Lucifer snorted. “If Daddy dearest wants me to take the fall for the sins of all of mankind, then what’s a little cursing going to do? I’m already stuck in this hellhole.” He lifted his shoulders in a shrug, clearly not bothered. “If I want to shout to the heavens, who the fuck would stop me?” Certainly it wouldn’t be his so-called family, who abandoned him so easily in favor of a few new toys.
Winchester stared at him in shock, taken aback by his sudden ferocity. Lucifer smiled. So there was more than just snark in that body. Then Winchester smiled back. “Yeah, guess you have a point. Who the fuck would stop you? The guys who put you down here in the first place?”
Caught off-guard by Winchester’s joke, it took a moment before the words registered. And then. And then Lucifer laughed. Full belly laughed. Because damn was that funny. He tried to imagine Michael in all his righteous fury coming down to hell, dressed in full plated armor and spear in hand just to scold Lucifer for a few curses. That would be the day. It took him a couple minutes to calm down. When he did, taking a few deep breaths in the process, Winchester was looking at him with wide eyes, looking like he’d just seen Lucifer sprout three heads or something.

He liked to think that this tiny act of rebellion could be heard up in heaven. Perhaps Michael was glaring down at him right now, childishly mad that his younger brother was screaming profanities to the heavens and there was not a thing he could do about it.Not to mention, his true vessel was rebelling in his own way, refusing to give into big brother’s plans to free the devil by spilling innocent (or not so innocent) blood in hell.
Honestly it was impressive how long the Righteous Man had lasted so far.
Michael should be proud.
Michael was not proud nor impressed the way Lucifer was with Dean Winchester’s defiant act.
No more than a month had passed and Lucifer was already getting another visit, this time though, by Gabriel.

Rereading in 2025. Surprised I didn't make comments. I think I remember this fic. The duffel of weapons for Dean. I think this might also be the fic with Alistair.. slightly hunting young Dean? The birthday party, pushed out a window?
Sent to Hell early? Or somehow the Hell memories crack him? Might be after sent to Hell again. Need help to anchor himself back in reality. Mary/John/Sam go in his subconscious to help?
