It was a routine at this point.
Peppermint almost waited for it. The phone call that came every day. She deleted the contact when she first left, but she was pretty sure she would forever remember the number. And she let the phone ring. Once… twice… however long it took. Until the call died, her phone stopped buzzing, and the notification followed shortly thereafter:
