    Summary

Elwing was scion of Luthíen who braved gods and death itself for love. She was the daughter and granddaughter of murdered kings, a refugee and ruler, mother, wife and, once, sister.

When her father's killers asked, begged, commanded that she give them the silmaril, everything she was demanded refusal.

She knew that there would be a price for that though she did not, perhaps, realise quite how high it would be.

    Summary

Sakura gives up on Kakashi-sensei as a teacher after Team 7 falls apart. However, her plans get thrown out the window when a mission gone wrong leaves Kakashi-sensei stranded elsewhen in time and a different Kakashi is slotted into his place in the timeline.

Hatake-sensei just wants his dogs back and is deeply offended by the mess of a team the other him had made. Detangling Sakura's deficiencies is going to take a good while and, since team training always works better with an actual team…

Ino hesitates when Sakura asks her to join Team 7. Everything Sakura had ever said about Kakashi-sensei says it is a terrible idea and yet, she joins anyway–mostly for Sakura but also because this new Hatake-sensei pushes them through training like their lives depend upon it.

    And they do.

    They're ninja–and they've got to be ready.

I love any fic that guilts kakashi about his awful teaching, and this definitely delivers on that. But the main reason this is a fave is it's portrayal of Ino and Sakura's friendship, as well as the excellent, tight writing. I love them, and it's super unusual to see Ino's protectiveness displayed in fic. I love how this shows them as regaining that close freindship they had in childhood, with Ino resuming her role as Sakura's advocate and protector. Her haranging of kakashi is so funny and awesome, and so is her banter with sakura. The little details of their friendship the author reveals are so cute, like the sleepovers and the mind reading and what not. I like how the narrative doesn't blame them for not taking ninja-ing seriously as children, or for being more interested in boys, instead placing the responsibility on their teachers, which imo is where it truly lays (after all if the irl education system only bothered with people who were serious about their careers and education at the age of 12 then half the population would be illiterate).
the fic also portrays the other teachers as being somewhat incompetent/uncaring/sexist, with hints theres something more to it, gonna be interesting to see if that goes anywhere.

One of my all time favourites. A really cool fic about Sakura being awesome and saving the day without any power-ups or sudden changes of heart. It's just a really nice well contained well edited fic- it doesn't overstay it's welcome or become overburdened trying to span the entirety of naruto canon. It has some great moments of humour too, and the epilogue is nice. it gives closure while leaving things open ended; you can imagine sakura went on to be a powerful ninja, or her retiring to adopt 10 puppies wev your preference. This fic definitely deserves it's popularity.
