Summary
After a week of hell and a year of purgatory, Harry Dresden is ready for a break. Paradise is outside his budget, but he's been getting by with the help of people who won't leave him alone. Every day gets a little shorter, but a little easier.
Those days are soon to be gone, though. Chicago has been left vulnerable too long for the predators hiding in the dark of myth to stay away, and new arrivals of old threats are becoming more frequent. Outsiders are barging their way in through channels that no one can identify, bringing unexplainable abilities to the game that threaten to turn it in their favor permanently. The people of the city are responding in kind, banding together to make life harder for anything they don't understand, and that includes wizards listed in the Yellow Pages. Everywhere Harry turns is a powder keg ready to blow, and he's itching to start throwing some flame again.
The only clue lies in legend handed down through centuries, meaning it's up to Harry to be a detective again before the world he's built goes away for good...- Language:

"Link tossed the sword down. It stayed upright, embedded into the dirt and mud. He wanted to tell her just how desperately he’d wanted to reject it and put it back into its pedestal. The way he ran and lied, and was still lying. King Rhoam was the one who insisted the truth be buried, but Link didn’t utter a word of protest. He may have come clean, but he had no intention of coming clean to all of Hyrule.
He felt he didn’t owe Hyrule anything.But the question remained, just how much did he owe Zelda?"

Or, this is my attempt to better develop Ryuji as a character, given how the game and its characters often treat him so poorly, and how he's never allowed to be more than fodder for unfunny jokes (including that scene. You know which one). RyuAnn slowburn, but also focuses on Ryuji's other relationships, especially with Shiho and Ren. Updates Mondays.

As she approached the actually rather unremarkable looking young man, she felt a swell of doubt. Was he really who she’d thought he was? Spider-Man had been a giant of a man, someone she could easily imagine at the front of her train, gripping hundreds of webs with power enough to crush the train car into the shape of his body.
This boy looked barely able to carry his overstuffed backpack. With his Oxford shirt and jeans and neatly combed hair, he could have been the poster child for a 1950s science scholarship. Not someone you imagined facing down an eight-armed psychopath on a speeding train.
Half convinced she’d imagined the whole thing, Maggie crossed the diner and stepped up to his table. After a moment he noticed her, lifting his attention from an open book full of equations and cracker crumbs to look right at her.
All doubt vanished when Maggie looked into his blue eyes and round face. It was him. No question. It was Spider-Man, right here at her table, waiting to order breakfast from her.
