Louis gritted his teeth. "I hate you."
"Mm," Harry mused, dipping his head slightly as they turned. His nose brushed dangerously close to Louis' temple. "That why your heart's racing?"
Louis flushed. "It's not."
"Sure," Harry said, but he didn't sound convinced.
Louis wanted to shove him away, wanted to sneer something back, but the problem was that he didn't. He didn't move, he didn't step out of Harry's hold.
His fingers curled slightly around Harry's hand, betraying him.
OR: When a time-travel mishap binds Louis, a sassy Slytherin, to Harry, a Gryffindor from thirty years in the past, neither of them are thrilled—especially when they realize they share a mysterious mark and a bloodline curse. “Are you asking me on a date?” Louis halts. “That is very forward of you.”
“It is, isn’t it?” Harry chuckles, scratching his neck nervously, “I didn’t mean for it to come out so bluntly, forget I said —”
“No,” Louis blurts out, before he takes a deep breath and repeats, “I mean — yes, I would love to. As a thank you, I mean.”
Harry’s smile deepens, turning playful as his eyes hood slightly. “As a thank you, huh? That’s fine by me. I didn’t expect you to fall as hard and quick as I have for you, anyway,” His words are soft as his hand brushes against Louis’ wrist, “I’ll see you tomorrow at six, Your Highness.” He bows, waving as he runs back to the estate.
Louis waves back. The warm, bitter cocoa scent Harry leaves behind causes his heart to flutter erratically through the whole walk back to the castle.
“Oh, he is going to be a problem.”
Or; Louis can have anyone across any kingdom, but he doesn’t want them. He wants Harry — the mysterious, new stable hand.

Harry shrugged, his shoulders brushing against Louis’. “I think since I was young, I craved that feeling, though. I didn’t always hate being a prince, but over time, certain aspects of it just bothered me so much. I remember being four years old and realising that every person in the world knew my name, and I wasn’t sure if I wanted that. I told my mum as much and she tried telling me that being a prince is not a punishment. That it was a privilege that I should be happy about it, but no one asked me if I was. But looking up at the sky, I remember that all of this will one day mean nothing, and neither will I. All the pressure will then disappear and I could just be.”
Louis stayed quiet, allowing Harry the space to open up because he knew Harry wasn’t looking for advice, but just someone to confide in. What he wished he could tell him was that in the short amount of time that he’d known the prince, in Louis’ eyes, he couldn’t be insignificant if he tried. He was brighter than every star up there in the sky. He was all Louis could look at and think about.
