“The formation lap ending, Daniel lining up next to me. We waved to each other-“. The hand holding his tightens, looking away from the doctor he can see Daniel now standing next to Michael frowning down at him.
“Max, what year is it?” This voice is much softer than the doctors. He realises it’s Sebastian that has spoken this time.
Max frowns at the question confused by it but answers none the less, “2018”

Summary

'THREE TIME WDC WINNER MAX VERSTAPPEN HOSPITALISED AFTER HORROR ASSAULT FOLLOWING THE AUSTIN GP'
Inside sources have confirmed that the victim of the incident at the Austin GP on Sunday night was in fact reigning world champion Max Verstappen. Reports were made at 23:18 that night stating that ambulances and police cars with full sirens entered the Formula 1 paddock and attended to a seriously injured patient who was subsequently airlifted to the nearest hospital for immediate treatment. Both Red Bull and the FIA have yet to make any statement regarding the incident and further details have not been provided at this time...
Charles slams his phone down against the table, suppressing the urge to rip his own hair out. He can hear Christian yelling down the phone on the other side of the door, no doubt angering the nurses and other medical personnel just trying to do their jobs.

Summary
George was used to finding a silver lining in shit situations, but retiring from his home race after putting it on pole didn’t leave him with much to work with.
