“I don’t have a fever, babe,” he said at last.
“Oh good,” said Henry, “I feel much more prepared to take care of you if it’s only a cold. Not that I couldn’t handle the flu, just that I-“
“Henry, no, no one’s taking care of anyone,” Alex cut across him, exasperated. Henry looked equal parts hurt and confused.
“Well… why not?”
“Because I’m not sick!” Alex practically shouted. They stared at each other for a long, silent moment, before a lopsided grin took shape on Henry’s face.
“You’re not?” He asked, and Alex could tell from his tone that Henry in no way believed him. He opened his mouth to argue but Henry placed a silencing finger to his lips... -
