Sasuke had almost said what he’d meant, then. When he had pulled away and wiped his mouth on his sleeve, the words crouched in the back of his throat. But he told himself, that time and all the other times, that surely Naruto must already know. Surely by now Naruto must have figured it out, must have figured out how early in their lives Sasuke began to feel the way that he does, must have figured out that the feeling is so all-consuming that sometimes, sometimes-verging-on-all-the-time, Sasuke isn’t sure who he’d be without it.

“No, listen,” He presses on, the leftover bit of chain tangling in the grass with each slow step, “Ever since my parents… I’ve had trouble letting people in– even if I want to. It’s like there’s this gate, locked and guarded, and I can’t unlock it no matter how hard I try.”
Sasuke feels Naruto’s gaze like a brand, “Well,” He kicks away a pebble, playing with his fingers, “I know how to pick locks.”
Just like that, the tension cracks. It still exists, some unseen oppressive wall, but it lessens just enough for Sasuke to laugh, an honest, belly laugh, and say, “You can try.”
Or; Sasuke and Naruto escape a kidnapping. Lost in the desert, Sasuke finds more than just his way home.

Despite his injuries, Tony refuses to delay the camping trip he already planned with Peter and Friend. Cue Team Son trying to cope with the existential crisis of almost losing one of his Team Dads--and also the actual crisis of living in the woods.
