"What if I help you?" Grace blurts out desperately, sweating even in the coolness of his house as his words finally manage to stop Adrian from storming out.

"What?" Adrian says after a tense moment.

"I can prove it to everyone," Grace says, his heart in his throat. "I'll - I'll make you and Rocky the most celebrated couple on Erid. I promise."

"Stupid human," Adrian hisses. "You would give up your chance for him just like that?"

    "Yes," Grace says hoarsely.

    "Anything for him."

    ***

    Adrian does not like Grace.

Which sucks, really, since Grace loves Adrian's husband and all.

The Soulmorph is a complicated process honed by evolution where when Eridians meet their songmate, they both undergo a physical and physiological change that helps them better adapt to both environments, in order for them to produce healthy clutches with an environmental advantage to their birthplace.

Pretty normal for any usual Eridian.

The thing is, Grace is an unusual Eridian.

    Summary

The arrival at Erid is a momentous occasion. Rocky is excited and thrilled. Ryland is overwhelmed. But the reunion is happy, beautiful, amazing.

Or that's what it should have been. Except Rocky gets hurt, Ryland is left to try and communicate with an alien planet, and everyone is scrambling to figure out how to do this. To Grace, this is incredible but also bittersweet - he got Rocky home safely with the taumoeba, now he just gets... to starve. To Erid, this is insane - how did Rocky show up in an alien spaceship with a child???

    ...

Ryland Grace is stuck trying to speak Eridian, immediately makes himself sound like a child, and Rocky's world and family scramble to help this strange pebble. Misunderstandings galore, alongside hurt/comfort and angst and fluff.

There's no reason Simon would wake up on the Hail Mary and act rationally after dying in a blood ocean.

    So, he doesn't

Good luck to Grace and Rocky

    Summary

Sergeant Colt Seavers, Doctor Ryland Grace, and Convict Simon Fleisher didn’t sign up for this mission, but it turns out they’re the only ones that could do the job.

Simon is an ex-terrorist, promised a clean record for his cooperation.

Ryland is a middle school teacher who accidentally became a leading authority on astrophage, which they had to physically subdue in order to get aboard the mission.

And Colt is just a former Air Force pilot who wanted to save his little brother.

When the facility explosion takes out the only people on Earth who can save their sun, Stratt is left with her last option: The C Team
