Summary
The end of the Cold War wasn't heralded by the fall of the Berlin Wall and German reunification, but rather with the fall of nuclear bombs across Europe, rendering the surface unsuitable for permanent habitation.
The remnants of humanity retreated underground, slowly rebuilding society over the decades. Battling overpopulation and skill shortages, some subterranean settlements reached out to others for help.
Yet one didn't.
In the aftermath of the Party's rise to power, the English settlement was withdrawn from all alliances and its independence and self sufficiency were championed.
The Party's priorities? Reduce resource consumption and increase standard of living.
Their slogan?
By any means necessary.

Dino’s little plan to add a third prong to their unsteady alliance by bringing in some of the remains of El Norte should have at worst resulted in Ryan getting shot (again). But it's the best possible outcome and then some: a solid business partner and a real fucking friend, maybe for the first time ever. So why does Ryan feel like he's having to relearn everything he thought he knew about himself?

Summary
John Walker knows his reputation hasn’t been the cleanest in the past few years. When he’s inadvertently slotted in a new team of ex-mercenaries and reformed assassins after the showdown in New York, he figures this is as good a second, er, third chance as he is going to get. He can’t fuck up anymore.
There were a few kinks to that plan, however. Namely, Bob. Always hovering, always present, always off-kilter. And Walker doesn’t know where he slots into the equation. It messes up his equilibrium.
So when an off-world sorcerer comes in and ties their fates into one, Walker is forced to confront his new reality, his feelings (scary), and then some. Chaos ensures. Because when has it ever been easy in his life?
