    Megumi Fushiguro never stood a chance in life. His mother died when he was five, his father abused and neglected him, and he has never felt right in his own mind or body. The only two people who have ever cared about him are his sister Tsumiki and his mother's childhood friend Satoru Gojo. Gojo is the only person in his life that has ever been like a parent to him. He practically raised Megumi and his sister and was always there when they needed him. Meugmi is slow to trust and love, but holds his family and his two best friends very close to his chest. But now, at the beginning of his sophomore year of high school, Tsumiki has gone away to college and his conflicting emotions about one of his friends have thrown him for a loop. But still, Gojo is there. He doesn't leave and remains an ever constant persence in Megumi's life, which he is eternally grateful for. But sometimes, it's not enough to silence the voices in his head, however much Gojo tries.

    Megumi smiled. He smiled crookedly, his beautiful lips curving to one side. Yuuji felt like he was seeing things; the hit must have left him insane, because now he was having visions. He had never seen Fushiguro Toji smile. This was new. This was crazy. It was as if Toji had lost twenty years and was smiling. Total madness.

    Megumi works at his veterinary clinic now and has a completely legal and normal life. He was naive to believe he would never have to set foot in his father's club again, until Toji drags a bloodied boxer into his apartment.

    “Well, right now we’re going to a dinner, where we will completely throw Gojo off with fake fights, fake scenarios and fake drama for him to not stress out and irritate Geto with his birthday wishes and/or expectations… so you tell me what’s stupid.” Nobara said firmly.

    “Is there even anything that’s real tonight?” Yuta asked.

    “The dinner. The dinner is very real because I’m reaping the benefits I can out of this plan.”

    All agreed. On one side this was very stupid, but on the other side… free food. That just about settled it.

    Suguru basks in it for a moment, content, before movement at the bottom of the ravine leading up to the encampment catches his eye. A lone rider is loping their way, riding their horse in an unhurried trot.

    Still little more than a splash of black against the shadowy desert floor, Suguru feels a shiver crawl up his spine. The rider, as if sensing they're being watched, stops. From this far away, Suguru can't see their eyes, but he can feel the way they sear into his skin.

    A black hat slides off the head, silver-white hair shining even in the sparse light of predawn. It could be anyone, but somehow, Suguru knows exactly who that head of hair belongs to.

    Gojo Satoru has found them at last.
