    Peter had no recollection of how he ended up in Gotham, but suddenly he's fourteen and trying to figure out why there always seems to be a vigilante checking up on him. He should really stop telling his new friends about the secret Lab back at home, or making vague comments about a parent doing an experiment leading to his meta abilities, or the mysterious guardian Tony who's supposedly "richer than God" while Peter wears the same clothes days in a row. So what if he also goes out as Spider-Man still?

    The batfamily gets caught up trying to figure out what is going on with the (oddly familiar) kid showing up random places with various new injuries and a negligent guardian that may have experimented on the poor boy. For a totally unrelated reason Damian and Peter have perfectly matched up schedules for the school year.
    There's also a new vigilante in town, and Red Hood could get used to his new and competent company.

The rookie is determined to sit up, reaching out like he could drag Chris to Claire through sheer force of will now that they've met, and Chris has to place a firm hand on his chest to keep him from rising. "Tell me she made it."

    They stare at each other. Chris feels his heart break and reform in his chest.

    He's lying there, displaced in time, bleeding with an infected gunshot wound, and he's asking after Claire.

    “It’s already a fucking miracle you’re not in juvie while being charged with murder—” Izuku flinches “—you can’t afford to slip up.” Mr. Aizawa’s tone is harsh as they slow, his dark eyes resting heavily on him. “Do you understand?”

    Izuku nods, whispering a small, “Sorry.”

    Mr. Aizawa glares at him, tugging him along, like he doesn’t believe him. “Stop being sorry and just follow the rules.”

    Izuku isn’t going to juvie. They said he’s different – doesn’t matter that he’s killed someone, the police is worried about a quirkless child being around other ‘troubled’ kids.

    Now this Mr. Aizawa is stuck with him until his trial, and Izuku’s completely, a hundred percent certain that the man absolutely hates him.

    Unbeknownst to them, someone is watching from the shadows...

    Izuku didn’t think. He would later find himself meditating a lot on this issue, for it seemed to be an unfortunate habit. And possibly an ironic one. His whole shtick was analysis, using his brain and whatnot, but in the heat of the moment any critical thinking skills just went right out the window. As it happened, so did he.

    Izuku hasn't felt like a child since he was four. since he sat in that doctor's office and got told he was worthless.

    His life fell apart after that day as his dad left, and his father promised him everything he ever wanted. a father that gave him a quirk. too many quirks.

    He didn't see his mom after that day. Well, that's a lie. He didn't see her alive after that day.

    Izuku broke everything and everyone around him as he rebelled and ran from every problem in his measly little life. He couldn't keep on living in shadows. He needed to help people. The rush of adrenaline after was better than anything he had ever felt.

    So Izuku Midoriya, equipped with a stolen mask and stolen weapon and three stolen quirks, promised to help anyone he could in his stolen, dying and partially blinded body. not as his stolen name, but as the fox.
