Summary
A fluffy summer camp AU I wrote for myself that got a bit out of hand starring Zayn's two kids, Liam, and of course Zayn, but definitely not Niall. (Somehow I forgot to include our leprechaun and had to edit him in so he'd at least get a tag).
Liam goes to work at a summer camp and meets Stella, a survivor of a backyard science experiment that left her with scars all over her body. She and her less-than-enthused brother go to camp and fall in love with Liam. He helps their little family heal, in addition to other things.- OR -

It all seemed to happen in slow motion, one minute Liam’s date was talking to Zayn with that dumb ass smile on his face, then the next Zayn was—very casually, if he did say so himself. It definitely looked like an accident—sweeping his hand out, knocking over a full glass of wine in Joseph’s lap. Joseph let out a gasp as Zayn put on his best shocked face, morphing his features into one of sincere apology.
“Oh, my God,” Zayn gasped out. “I’m so, so sorry. I wasn’t watching where I was putting my hands. I’m so sor—”
“Zayn,” Liam’s tone was clipped when he spoke. Zayn immediately stilled, his words coming to an abrupt halt. He sounded pissed. Fuck.
Zayn slowly swiveled to face Liam more fully, his expression no doubt showcasing his dread. “Um, yes?”
“Can I speak to you?” Liam stood up, his posture rigid and tense. “In private.”
Or Liam keeps going on blind dates, and Zayn keeps sabotaging them.

He remembered spending hours at that same table, drawing until his fingers went numb, warm lips sometimes pressed to his neck as hazelnut kisses were exchanged. Zayn could still hear that mellow sultry voice whispering in his ear, how he worked too hard how he needed to take a break. He also remembered how those breaks often ended in the tiny bathroom meters away, clumsy make out sessions as large hands palmed his ass, grinding against him until he was breathless.

One month into the boy’s tweets, still no full faced pictures. There were loads of jawlines and lips and even tattooed hands but most of the pictures posted by one niazkilam were paintings and charcoal drawings and graffiti that rivaled banksy. But, god, Liam couldn’t stop scrolling at this point. In fact, he didn’t. Until he was about 4 months in and Harry shifted awkwardly on the couch, bringing Liam back from his thoughts.
His eyes fell on the movie for awhile, locking his phone and tossing it into his lap. He could stop thinking about this mysterious boy for at least the hour that was left in the movie. Except he couldn’t. Thirty minutes, if that, later he was unlocking his phone again, pulling twitter back up and immediately finding the profile again to follow him. Niall would call it a thirst follow, Harry would agree (as usual) but Liam was just captivated. Interested. Enthralled. Engrossed. Transfixed. Mesmerised. Every synonym that existed, he was.
(or in which everyone is a bit of a nasty hipster and Liam thirst follows Zayn without realizing they attend the same University)

He thinks about Bradford a lot more than he probably should, always eager for the next time he gets to watch him. But when Niall told him about the other new roommate, Zayn, he never in a million years thought it would be him - even when Niall said Zayn was just his type and had silver hair.

Zayn is an art student and volunteer EMT who kind of just wants to be all Liam needs regardless of whether they're meant to be.

Zayn didn't think he'd ever see Liam again, that much was a fact to him. He never wrote and he never called. Zayn wrote letters, he wrote loads of them but he never had the courage to send them because it felt like Liam left him, didn't want anything to do with him and without Liam there to tell him otherwise, it was so easy to believe.
