"Pearl, please drop this." Scott was bordering on begging. "No, we need to have this discussion." Pearl's voice was stern. "You need to tell me–"
"Because I couldn't look at you without your memories!" Scott snapped suddenly, turning around to look at Pearl with tears brimming in his eyes and falling down his face.

Scott has been avoiding Pearl in the Winner's Void after her win in double life, and Pearl has a question she desperately needs to ask.

A player with enough hubris to lead to divine intervention.” The voices whispered in his ear, the words reverberating around his head. Divine intervention? “What are you?” Scott attempted to ask, his voice a barely audible whisper before it disappeared into the void.
“You can ask our little bird, you’ll be seeing him very soon.”
In other words, the watcher's don't like Scott.
