They drop to the floor, and when she looks back up at him, it is with such shame and apology that he almost wants to look away. He wants to, but he can’t. All that he can do is stare in horror at the thing that can’t be happening, the implications that he can’t be seeing.
Shutting the door behind her, Lute says, “Sera has well and truly lost her mind. They aren’t willing to let you return to Heaven. I’m sorry, Sir.”
