Summary
Lestat had endured unspeakable horrors in his life.
In the end, it only took twelve words to break him. Twelve little words on a screen, delivered by the man who owned the other half of his soul.
'There’s something I need to tell you. Can we meet in person?'
‘We need to talk’? You really thought that’d go over well?
'It’s a misunderstanding, Daniel. And it’s none of your business.'
'It’s the world’s business now, lover boy. He’s livestreaming it. I’ll send you the link.'

Summary
“Louis?”
Louis appears startled. “Yeah?” he asks.
Lestat purses his lips in an attempt to keep the tears in. He straightens his spine, holds his chin high, dares to flash a smile that looks way too forced, but it goes away too quickly.
He clears his throat, but it still comes out shaky, a croak, even, when he asks, “Who is Daniel Molloy?”
-
Almost three years after Louis and Lestat stood in each other’s arms at the center of an abandoned shack, while a violent hurricane threatened their city just outside, they have discovered a newfound balance for this new century. Lestat has his music, Louis has his clubs and his art, but there’s still a dedicated corner for each other in both of their lives. Toeing the lines of sex and love, the hope that they might use the new century to be better is just around the corner.
That is, of course, until Daniel Molloy publishes his book.

Summary
Lestat stumbles through a haze in which nothing is clear but ghosts. The drugs banish them, usually, but it isn't a perfect science—on an unlucky night, what yesterday swept them away resummons them tenfold.
Tonight is an unlucky night.

Summary
“Louis,” Lestat said, the edges of his voice only cracking a little. Offering up the most casual and unaffected smile he could manage. “To what do I owe the pleasure this evening?”
Louis’ eyes flicked from Lestat’s face slowly downward, lingering on his bare torso in a way that made Lestat feel like he was being eaten alive. “In town on business,” he said when his eyes landed squarely on Lestat’s face again. A little curl in one corner of his mouth, his eyes an otherworldly green Lestat ached to dive into. “Decided I was in the mood for a show. You gonna invite me in?”
