Rumi threw one last glance outside, over her shoulder, and saw a couple of people unloading the cab and starting to drag her suitcases towards the mansion. It felt surreal. Her whole life packed in those wheeled boxes, about to get trapped in some strangers’ house. She was really doing this. She was really marrying into this family she’d never even heard of just a few weeks ago.

Summary
She's warm from the body heat and the alcohol and Mira's hands everywhere. Rumi doesn't even try to stop them from wandering, biting her lip and giggling as her girlfriend grips her hips and spins her around until her chest is flush against Rumi's back. They're completely lost in their own world, everything else around them fading away into a blurry backdrop of color and noise.
And that's when Rumi tilts her head up and notices her.
Now facing the other side of the room, Rumi can see the DJ booth set up in the back where the tiny stage is. The platform is so short that it's more of a step than anything, but on it is a table with an open laptop covered in stickers and an assortment of over complicated looking mixers and soundboards.
Behind the booth is a pair of wide brown eyes that are staring right back at her.

Or: HUNTR/X works towards sealing the Honmoon and falls in love along the way. Pre-reveal Rumi, hiding both her patterns and her wants, loves her girls in whatever way she can until she's free (whether that means shielding Mira and Zoey in fights or pretending to be something she's not). She just has to hold out until the Honmoon’s golden. Straightforward enough, right?
