A part 3 for the events of 1941. Crowley falls asleep on the couch in the bookshop, and Aziraphale begins a new volume of John Keats:
(He was skipping lines, he couldn’t quite concentrate––in his periphery, which he longed to ignore, he could see Crowley rising––)
Full of the true, the blushful Hippocrene,
With beaded bubbles winking at the brim,Crowley pushed the book down into his lap with a single long finger, but Aziraphale didn’t look away from the page.
And purple-stained mouth;
That I might drink, and leave the world unseen,“Angel,” Crowley said.
And with thee fade away into the forest dim:
Crowley took his chin in his fingers and lifted Aziraphale’s face to meet his gaze.
