Summary
I made this poem a little while after reading whiskeyuncle's fic "origin of sickness".
(I highly recommend reading the fic first to have a deeper understanding of this poem.)I knew I had liked it, but It hadn't really hit me just how much the fic had impacted me until I had finished writing this poem in a mad frenzy. I had to step back and wonder what exactly had it awoken within me.
What had it reminded me of?
Somthing I had pushed away for a long time.It's inspired me to be more open about being a bit of a freak, to maybe question and peel back some of the shame that has kept me from doing so already.
At first I was ashamed of this poem.
I found it too raw, messy, bleeding all over the place. It is a terrifying thing to be known. Iv decided to share it anyway as one of those first steps towards being less ashamed.
I'm hoping the author will see it. As perhaps a thanks for how they inspired me.
And I don't care who else sees it.And I'm most assuredly not afraid, don't believe anyone who tells you any different.
