Sometimes you can't let go of what's making you sad, because it was the only thing that made you happy. Akutagawa was known for giving surprisingly good advice for someone who seems to be a lost man for the most part. Atsushi has always hated this about him because he was always right. So when the roles were reversed, Akutagawa didn't know what to make of it. A connection was established - a foundation of trust. I mean, sure, they still tried to kill each other on surface level, but they found peace in the violence. It was their constant when all else around them crumbled.
And so, many sacrifices for one another later, Dazai makes a suggestion that shakes the both of them right to the core. Maybe they were in *love*. Maybe that's why they were never willing to kill each other - why they were always convinced they had to hold back. But, they were both stubborn brats and hung up on the fact that they were supposed to be bitter enemies. The sacrifices don't lie, though. No one risks their life that much for their enemy.

Mori had always suspected that something would bloom out of the relationship of our two little maniacs. Whether that be a bittersweet rivalry or a beautiful love story was hard to tell at the time, but the two had a knack for getting along. And getting on each other's final nerve. If anything, it was a skill they possessed purely for the other person. But, it made life far more interesting, so Mori was never one to complain about what the two were up to.
But, something intrigued him about their relationship. For a star to be born there is one thing that must happen: a gaseous nebula must collapse. So, someone must crumble; collapse for the others success. He knew that. They most certainly knew that. But who was willing to take the fall for someone they had such a love-hate relationship with? For a man they could hardly trust outside of battle. So they made a bet, because when has that ever screwed either over before?

Chuuya Nakahara, the aggressive ginger runt of the Port Mafia, has a surprisingly soft spot for his underlings, and it shows. He's like a big brother to them. Even when they've left. That doesn't change what they had. But who's there to look after him when he's once again swept into the shadows? I have never heard of anyone asking for him, when he has done so much for them, and it is a painful and lonely existence.
But, being the person that he is, Chuuya was more than willing to make sacrifice after sacrifice for people who didn't deserve it. But, that's what older siblings are for. They make the sacrifices no one else wants to. They do what has to be done and don't ask for extra credit. Watch as he makes one sacrifice too many for people who cared more than they realised.

Kindness is often mistaken for softness and let me tell you, that is a mistake you don't want to make. Kind people are not born that way, they do not stumble into it. Kind people are forged in fire and darkness and imploding stars; they have steel cores. Throw a punch and you're going to break your hand. Dazai knew that better than most. He has seen life crush so many others, and they become these kinder versions of themselves after having faced the worst of it all. He's seen it happen to himself.
An immortal king who only wishes to end his life. What drove him to this insane state? Why did he live such a suicidal lifestyle when his future was perfect? Why would he ruin everything just for a little thrill? He knew his life was going to crumble around him. Perfect doesn't last, after all. Those he had grown so fond of wouldn't have made it, so Dazai was willing to gamble everything if it meant he could do something worthwhile - be something worthwhile.
