It’s the boy John let him pick up from school when he was too sick to go in. The one Derek watched grow out of braces and bad skin and into something bright and sharp and undeniable.He closes his eyes for a beat too long.
Just a second. But it slips. The effort of holding still, of pretending he doesn’t feel Stiles leaning in, slowly unraveling.
You don’t get to do this, he tells himself.
You don’t get to want this.
But he does. God, he does. He wants it so badly it makes him sick.
One move. That’s all it would take. Just turn. Just tilt his head. Just meet him.
Stiles Stilinski is twenty-two. Derek Hale is forty-one. They are not supposed to be anything but what they’ve always been. But nothing feels like it used to.

In any other situation, Stiles vanishing with no warning would be the only thing on Derek’s mind. But in that same fraction of a second, a kid suddenly appears in front of him. And that… That complicates things.
“Did someone—” Derek says, and stops. He tries to look around for a mom, or something. Like this child didn’t just pop into existence in front of him.
And this is probably some kind of trap.
But—he smells familiar. He smells, he smells like…
And then the kid is running at him. Grabbing his legs, and shuddering against him. Derek tenses, for a second. Hesitates, and slowly lowers a hand to the kid’s shaking shoulder.
“You’re okay,” he says. “You’re gonna be…”
But it’s impossible. Everything he knows is screaming that this is impossible.
Because this child is a Hale. And that’s impossible enough, but that’s still only half of it.
Because he’s also a Stilinski.

Summary
Lydia has dumped Stiles with a note left in his care. Derek is the father of 8-year-old Eli.
Stiles drives home to Beacon Hills without realizing it. On the road for almost 40 hours of driving, a few hours of truck stop sleep, and about a thousand gallons of coffee and energy drinks. Stiles sees the welcome to Beacon Hills sign and then pulls over to the first bar he sees.
Derek has had a long day between the Hale Garage and helping out Sheriff Stilinski, he's exhausted and starving. He pulls into the bar because it's the only place open this late that he can get a decent burger to go.

During Stiles' mission to save Derek from being arrested and save his town from supernatural creatures, he runs into Madison, a new werewolf with no control over her transformation. She ends up taking him to meet the Winchesters. Things spiral from there.

Set in season 2 of Supernatural and season 6B of Teen Wolf, showing Stiles' journey in finding Derek and coming home, with some hunter brothers tagging along for the fight. Stiles really needs to learn how to manage his back problems from carrying the show for too long.
