Summary
Fifteen years after her high school graduation, Reina returns to Kyoto, to watch Kitauji perform again. An education abroad was followed by a successful career as a trumpetist and, well, Reina simply never had time to come back; the ivory tower of fame had kept her busy and, most importantly, safe.
There was, however, something else that, perhaps unbeknownst to her, resisted her homecoming—and, of course, it revolved around her, whom she thought was left behind. Who else? But life has an unforgiving way of reminding us when we leave things unsaid, and it would spare Reina not a second of respite from that implacable reckoning.
