Summary
megumi tries and fails to feel ashamed about yuuji seeing him like this. he fails to feel much of anything at all, these days. he closes his eyes and waits for yuuji to grow impatient and leave. instead, he hears the rustling of yuuji’s clothes as he sits down on the floor beside megumi. startled, he opens his eyes and looks at yuuji’s leg where it lands near his head. he should ask yuuji what he’s doing here, maybe. when he opens his mouth he finds that he doesn’t really care. yuuji reaches out to stroke megumi's hair with careful hands. megumi’s sure his hair is greasy - he doesn’t think he’s showered in at least three days. he waits for yuuji to pull away in silent disgust.
yuuji’s fingertips find his scalp and start massaging gently.

megumi has had enough. yuuji needs him to take just a little bit more.

“I hate you,” Megumi mumbles weakly into the fabric of Yuuji’s jacket, the words lacking any real conviction. He angles his head and nuzzles closer, his nose lightly dragging along the line of Yuuji’s throat – and something about it feels strangely intimate, vulnerable, like Megumi is trying to burrow into him, seeking shelter and safety from his own overwhelming feelings.
“No,” Yuuji corrects cheerfully, his voice warm and full of light, “you love me.”

"Don't act like you get turned down frequently," Megumi says. "You're like, inherently likeable."
"Well, you'd be surprised," Yuuji says with a small self-desecrating laugh. The glow from the streetlamps lights him up subtly, making his hair look closer to peach than to the bubblegum pink Megumi knows it to be. In this light, the circles under his eyes are clearly visible. "I'm too much for a lot of people."
"What," Megumi says, flat.
Yuuji thinks he's hard to love. Megumi disagrees.
