The pitcher reaches out and squeezes Miyuki’s hand, his eyes glowing the resonant amber that Miyuki loves so much. He always equates the look to a blazing fire, something he has to feed timber to keep burning bright. “I’ll miss you.”
“I’ll miss you too,” Miyuki replies, and though he means it, it’s a strange thing to say. They’ll see each other every day at practice, just like always.
Miyuki and Sawamura, who've been together for quite some time, get sent five-and-a-half years into their own past.
