Captain Erebus Blackwater is a known criminal and wayward Pirate that is held hostage through blackmail and used to track down the wayward souls. His uncanny skill to be able to find anyone with simply a description or image of the individual he is tasked with tracking down makes him an asset to the Royal Navy and the Discovery Service when things go horribly wrong. Faced with either the hangman's noose or the option to do as he is told by the Navy, Sir James Clark Ross asks him to find his missing friends in the Arctic. In exchange, Ross promises to be able to clear his name and remove the executioner's blade from the neck of Captain Blackwater's crew... Should he return.
Skilled with sailing in cold waters already and accustomed to inhospitable conditions, Erebus sets out in hopes of a final expedition that will set both himself and his beloved crew free from the pressures of the British Royal Navy. -

This flimsy Dishonored AU is a writing exercise in the form of a first-person story telling the tales of an individual living in the coastal city and capital of Serkonos: Karnaca. Adjustments have been made to the environment and locations to bring a tangible sensation to the city and put it into the hands of the reader. For all intents and purposes, please know that some of the events of Dishonored have not occurred within a general timeline that is applicable to the game series. The universe and characters from the series have been used and bastardized in this work to suit a creative writing experiment. It is posted here mostly for archival purposes and for sharing purposes.
The main character is one of my own making and structure. Additional Canon characters should generally be rather canon in personality and demeanor for the most part. There may be mild adjustments in accordance with the development of this part of the multiverse.
If it feels a little like an autobiography and that the character in question is speaking to you, then that's good. I accomplished at least that. Let yourself be spoken to through this work in order to experience the work with the proper body and fulfillment it offers you.
