When he finally goes off to a school where he can possibly succeed, the guy who murdered his parents is trying to get his body back and for some reason, it's Harry's problem.
A rewrite of Harry Potter if he made some better decisions and if the abuse he suffered at the hands of the Dursleys actually affected his life.

At the end of his life, Harry is given the chance to alter the course of the dark reality his son Albus and Albus' friend Scorpius create when they use a Time-Turner to save Cedric Diggory's life. With the hindsight bestowed by a lifetime as Auror, Head of the DMLE, husband, father, and friend, he will make very different choices as a seventeen-year-old wizard to try and save the people and the world he loves.
But if he has to do it all over again, simply defeating Voldemort won't be good enough: there's a never-ending scroll of tragedies to avert and one newly-installed Headmaster of Hogwarts to talk around (if he manages to get a word in edgewise before getting hexed). The good news is, as always: he's not fighting alone.

Summary
After Harry's escape from the Dursleys the summer he turns thirteen, he has a powerful bout of accidental magic.
The good news: he's not expelled from Hogwarts. The bad news: that's because he looks totally different, and can't be sure anymore that he was ever Harry Potter in the first place.
Now he has a whole extended family he doesn't trust, birth parents he refuses to name in public, and more secrets than he ever wanted to carry. But at least he never has to go back to Privet Drive.
