You’ll have seniority, a good salary, the pick of your stories,” he goes on, seeing the coarse rope begin to fray, “but what they don’t tell you is that when you live in a city full of psychopath vampires who like to LARP as superheroes, no salary is worth this shit!"
Daniel's just trying to keep his head down and write, but the entire city has decided that if they want access to Amadeo, the best way to do that is to go through him, which means that his regular hobbies now include drinking, complaining, and getting kidnapped.
