(Coda to episode 4x04)
"I slept with a woman," Miriam blurts, without even thinking about it. She needs to talk with someone, she needs to take it off her chest, but she couldn't tell anyone - well, anyone except Susie. Susie will understand her, right?
But Susie is looking at her, disbelieving, as if she had grown a second head, "You did - what?"
"I slept with a woman," Miriam repeats, voice a little hollow, "Carole."
"When you say you slept with a woman..." Susie's voice trails because she's still trying to make sense of it, of Midge Maisel, the incontrovertibly heterosexual Mrs. Maisel, with her hats and perfectly ironed dresses, the one chirping a thousand words per minutes about Tupperware, sleeping with a woman.
"Carole," she corrects her, and Susie nods, still weary.
"So, when you say you slept with Carole...?"
"We had sex," Miriam snaps and turns her head to look at her.

"I need a gig," Miriam states, sliding into the chair.
Susie tilts her head as she lights up her cigarette, a burst of light in the dimness of her office, "The back-to-back gigs I've set up for you across the country are not doing it for you? Sorry, I thought you might want time to eat and sleep and whatever else you do, but fuck me, I guess."
Miriam waves her hand, "Not that kind of gig. I need a date."
Susie freezes mid drag, smoke seeping out of her agape mouth. A bout of silence unravels between them.
"What kind of relationship do you think we have for me to be pimping out guys for you?" Susie sputters, smothering the tip of her smoking cigarette into her ashtray.
Fuck, she needs something stronger.
Bourbon, whisky, preferably shot straight up in her veins because Midge Maisel is sitting in her office with her perfectly painted lips and sparkly eyes with the kind of grin that Susie swears she's heard scriptures warning her about.
