Once upon a time there was a man who died. The man’s work was the writing and telling of stories. But he could not defy death. The last story he was working on was about a brave and handsome Prince who battles a crafty Raven. But now it seems the story and their battle will go on for eternity. “I’m sick and tired of this!” cried the Raven. “I’m sick and tired of this!” cried the Prince as well. The Raven escaped from the pages of the story and the Prince pursued the fell creature. In the end the Prince shattered his own heart to seal the Raven away. This power, which had been granted solely to him, was nevertheless forbidden.
The shattered shards of the Prince’s heart scattered throughout the town and sought places to settle in the hearts of people who had a void in them. Without his heart, the Prince was cursed to wander without feeling, or even remembering who he was. Inside the town the story and time, which had become entangled, ceased to move forward. Then one day, the story started writing itself…
