Summary
After a summer spent abroad, Marston Forster returns to East Highland in time for his junior year.
He finds that nothing, least of all himself, is quite how he left it.
Marston’s best friend is fresh out of rehab and looks likely to overdose again. The girl he loves is dating the star athlete he is somehow expected to replace. And the school’s golden boy with a dangerous streak has taken a sudden interest in Marston and the two become unlikely friends.
Marston is a good person in a cynical world. Everybody he knows is drowning, and he sees it as his responsibility to keep them afloat.
