Dustin Henderson had spent the last eight years searching for something. What exactly, he didn’t quite know. And even if he did, he would never admit it to anyone, much less himself. In theory, he had everything he ever dreamed and imagined. He graduated valedictorian back in 1989, got his PhD from Duke in Astrophysics, moved to Colorado to work on a brand new satellite for a company he loved, and he and his best friend Steve still took annual trips every summer. What more could he possibly want? One holiday trip to Hawkins, Indiana, in December 1997 may lead him one step closer to what he’s looking for… well, that and a one-way ticket to Iceland.

Summary
It's been five years since Will and Mike last saw one another, and seven since their last conversation, which changed everything. And despite the trauma that shrouds the night it took place, it was the last time that Mike truly felt alive.

That is, until a phone call between parents results in an unexpected addition to the Byers' annual visit and an unavoidable two week stay in the Wheeler house for Mike and Will. Will seems to have forgotten about that night, but who knows what being in the same house will do to bring up old memories between two "friends"...
