Maybe, Daniel thinks as he watches a minute frown appear on Armand's brow, a little annoyed as well. "You insist on judging us by mortal standards. Louis has been my companion for seventy years, and we have eternity to look forward to."

After a month in Dubai, Daniel Molloy is back home and miraculously alive, eager to get to work on his first draft. The vampire Armand has other plans.
