“Didn’t even look like Sonic, honestly-” Amy starts, and Tails continues.
“Green spikes, really messy bangs- brown eyes I think? I think he called you Arthur first- said a friend told him you were here.”
“He did? I didn’t even hear that- he was so quiet asking the receptionist. I didn’t catch it-” Amy tilts her head as she processes the new information. Tails nods, but stops as he notices Sonic has gone deathly still.
“....Sonic?” The hedgehog in question blinks as he remembers where he is. He looks to Knuckles, who has very conveniently gotten very quiet. A ping comes in on Knuckle’s communicator, and Sonic glances down at it for a moment before making eye contact with an increasingly uncomfortable echidna.

He held his breath as the fallen aster floated near. The frozen winds shifted in its stillness as it cut through them, its radiance ever so intense. The wetness of the rain still soaked his clothes, yet the warmth soothed him, washing away the pain and torment of the storm.
The star was now close enough for Shadow to see. The figure inside the light was a mobian, just like him. He opened his mouth in an attempt to speak as the other looked him straight in the eyes…

Summary
Some say realization feels like getting hit by a truck.
Well it wasn't a truck. A motorcycle had hit him, and the world didn't even flip. Not until so much later.
The mysterious rider was too skilled to let the bike tumble beneath them, and Sonic was draped across a black leather clad lap as the streets raced by instead.
And maybe it was vertigo or whiplash, but Sonic's head was swimming as golden eyes glared through the tinted visor down at him.
And he knew that he was making a bad decisions. Seeing Jet again? Delivering drugs to an underworld boss? Stalking a bike riding stranger?But he needed money support Tails, to do better than survive, and even that was a life he couldn't afford as a pizza delivery boy.
That's exactly why Jet, drugs, and stalking were the only choice Sonic had. Purely for the income...
It was only a lucky coincidence he got to see the stranger's golden eyes again because of it. -
