A freenoodles "how I met your mother", complete with stupid 20-somethings, a good-for-nothing, and an insane workaholic. Title is a Crane Wives song I would greatly recommend, and all the chapter titles are lyrics :)
"It's funny for Tang to hear other people talking about the best days of their lives. Detailed, flowery stories of weddings, birthdays, and wins. In fact, if the question ever comes up, everyone seems to look at him and expect some mundane story of a really good soup or something. Which makes it all the more fun to say that the best day of his life was the day everyone in his life gave up on him. Watching everyone's faces fall is a pleasure unto itself, though he hates the worried attention they always send his way. And look, he knows it sounds as pathetic as a washed up little orphan puppy on the street, but it's the truth."
