Summary
Phainon blinks as Mydei lets go of his hand, and his hand falls back to his side. "Mydei, like the crown prince Mydeimos?"
Mydei, for some reason, tenses again, reminiscent of a startled cat that's about to either run away or scratch him, which Phainon doesn't mind. He wants to see how strong Kremnoans are, see if their rumoured strength is true.
"I thought you said you knew nothing about the crown prince."
Phainon immediately raises his hands in surrender. "Wait, wait! I have no ill intention towards your crown prince, really! I only know his name and his fabled prowess in battles. I don't even know what he looks like."

Summary
In hindsight, Mydei should have seen this coming.
Phainon is generally a laid-back guy, gentle and pacifist, but for some reason, when it comes to Mydei, his competitive side is suddenly switched on. He turns everything into a challenge and will not back down from anything. He will even goad Mydei into accepting his challenge.
So, when Phainon confessed to him under the blankets one day, in the privacy of their chamber in Curtain-Fall Hour, that he wanted to officially be mates with him, Mydei should not have responded with, "Only if you can make me submit", even in jest.

Summary
The anxious feeling settles back in his chest like it never left, but there’s nothing he can do but to wait around. He just wishes there’s a way he can contact Mydei, or sneak out of Okhema without the guards or Aglaea noticing.
He needs to know that Mydei is alright.
“Mydeimos will return.”
Phainon glances up in question at Peucesta, who is looking down at the lyre in his hands. One hand is casually plucking at the strings as he continues, “Have faith in him.”
Phainon's shoulders drop. “Am I that obvious?”
Peucesta is silent for a moment, and then softly replies, “You seem different than usual recently. The only plausible reason I can think of is Mydeimos’ absence.”
5 times Phainon spends time with each of Mydei's friends, and 1 time he spends time with everyone.

Mydei lets out a quiet sigh.
Not far from him and squatting outside the lecture hall that he just exited from is a figure that he knows all too well. Black jeans and black hoodie with the hood pulled up to his head is none other than Khaslana.
Judging from his hunched posture, Mydei can already tell what happened.
He walks towards him, ignoring the conversations and people walking around him before stopping just two steps away from the hunched man. “Got into a fight again?”

At this, Mydei finally looks at him, golden eyes flashing as he hisses, “You killed me in cold blood. Am I supposed to smile and hug you every time we meet and act like nothing happened?”
Khaslana grips his forearm. He's also getting heated, desperate. “You said you forgave me. Did you truly?”
“Answer me this, at least. Did you regret killing me?” Mydei asks, hurt and anger laced in his voice like poison that eats away at Khaslana's heart with each word. “Did you feel even the slightest guilt leaving me there alone, in a pool of my own blood, right after you stabbed me?”
