Summary
It was Claire, a girl in his class, who had first broached the subject, who had planted the very idea, which obviously meant all the scheming Christopher had done over the last month was entirely down to her. Besides he didn’t understand what his father could possibly be so upset about? He certainly hadn’t been complaining during their dates. In fact, given he hadn’t once thought to question the situations they found themselves in- even during the candle lit dinner, kind of said it all.
His dad wanted Buck.
or
Chris gets involved in Eddie's dating life.
What follows is a story of them falling deeper in love, and maybe finally realising it

Summary
"She had 9-1-1 talk her through a field tracheotomy.”
Immediately, Buck’s free hand flies towards his throat. He’s only just grazed a patch of gauze before Hen catches his hand and pulls it away.
“Abby… Is a great dispatcher, but she doesn’t have any field experience. Getting instructions over the phone and using a steak knife isn’t really a recipe for a good outcome.” Buck finally looks back over at Hen, and even in the dim light, he can see the tears forming at the corners of her eyes. “The good news is that she was able to open an airway and keep the oxygen flowing to your brain…”
Hen trails off, and Buck gives her hand a little squeeze.
“…The bad news is knife slipped, or she applied too much pressure, and the incision went much further than it should have.”

Abby's hand slips when giving Buck a field tracheotomy, and he ends up losing his voice. Despite him thinking so, it's not the end of the world, especially when he meets his replacement.- Language:

Summary
Moving slowly, Buck sits up in bed. Groans. Reaches the heel of his hands to press tenderly against his eyes. Inhales, taking in a deep breath. Exhales. Finally, he’s able to open his eyes, and he draws back his hands.
Then, he realizes.
These are not his hands.
Buck stares, flexing out his fingers - not his fingers. They’re long, slender, a little dainty. The index and middle fingers are home to delicate gold rings. The nails are press-ons, colored dark maroon, and what the actual fuck.
A sound comes from his mouth - not his mouth - and it’s a sweet, womanly squeak. Oh god oh god oh god.

Summary
It was real. It had happened. It had happened to Buck, and to Eddie, and to see it again…to be confronted with it so abruptly, without any time to steel himself against the memories of that night? Eddie had almost collapsed to his knees then and there.
He saw someone hanging from a ladder truck, and he saw Buck. It didn’t matter that, logically, he knew better, or that the weight in his hands wasn’t his best friend. It didn’t matter that the guy was some stunt double named Reed. Because, as he’d scaled the ladder, he’d felt Buck’s name bubbling up inside of him. He’d had to swallow it back down so he didn’t scream it, like he had done back then. Back when it was Buck’s life quite literally hanging in the balance. When it had felt like Eddie’s was, too.
