Renee turned her down gently. "I'm afraid I'm not up for civilized company tonight. I appreciate you checking on me, though."
Allison pouted. "I never said you had to be civilized with me," she pointed out coyly. Renee watched her closely for moment but said nothing. Allison added, "Kevin said you hadn't texted him. Does that mean you don't need what he can give you?"
"I ask for Kevin when I need to not be in control," Renee answered at long last. "Tonight, I can't bear the thought."
Allison suppressed a shiver. "That doesn't sound like a bad time to me. Why don't you tell me what you need, and I can tell you if I think I could handle it?"
Renee hummed and sat down on the bed next to Allison, eyeing her body appreciatively. "I need you to understand: I can't be soft tonight. I know I always treat you with respect and consideration. But that's not me right now. I'm not in a headspace to be overly concerned about someone else's pleasure, or to spoil anyone or be soft with anyone. If that's what you want, I'm not the person to spend your evening with."

Lucina and Severa had been soldiers for as long as they’d been alive. They had muscular backs and calloused hands and scars from near-fatal wounds wherever there was skin to scar at all. It was an inevitability of fighting a war, losing, and then returning to the start of it. They were soldiers through and through, and even when displaying affection, they could never quite get away from that.
