One for All powered up his original quirk – and he hadn’t quite accounted for the consequences of that.
Though, to be completely fair, he didn’t think most people would have expected those particular consequences either.

Summary
Midoriya Izuku has had the last hope of the thread of his life snapped when All Might tells him he can't be a hero. Fine, he can take a hint. Only, when he's taking one last longing look at a world that hates him for something he cannot control does the most interesting thing happen. Because Midoriya Izuku isn't quirkless. He has a quirk, one that stayed dormant his whole life, and like most stress manifested quirks, it took a deadly encounter for it to kick in, bringing the one thing he's always wanted to him: Support and a quirk.
