She always falls into a dreamless sleep until he wakes her, his hand stroking softly over her hair, hardened by callouses. And she keeps her eyes closed tightly, allowing him to methodically soothe her, inhaling the scent of soil and oil on him, letting it flood her senses. She breathes it in deeply as he pets over her cheek, her lips, her heart. He always stops there, right above her breast, and presses his palm flat against it, waiting and wanting her. I will not bend the knee to a usurper, and if war is what you wish, war you shall get. Know that at the end of it, every Green head will be mounted on spikes for all to see what happens to traitors.”
Praying to the gods, old and new, to release him from his suffering, Aegon is sent back to the morning of his coronation. He is still weak, he still does not know how to rule. But he has one weapon: information. And with information, comes power. He now knows how to learn.
Being burned and usurped by his brother has left him with no love or patience to spare, for anyone. Everyone he thought he could trust betrayed him, and so he will pay their cruelty twice in turn.
OR
Copium to do Aegon justice after the season 2 finale. Merciless Aegon who slowly grows into a powerhouse of a King, and Helaena into a proper queen. Team Black is treated with due respect. Don't think the war will be easy for Aegon at all just because he was sent back in time (after S2E6).

In which Helaena Targaryen finally gets enough courage to utilize the gifts the Gods of Valyria bestowed on her, and performs a ritual to send herself back into her infant body. Unfortunately, they did not inform her that every gift demands a sacrifice, so instead of being born into the family she knows and loves, she instead awakes as Helaena, eldest child and only daughter of the Realm’s Delight and Rogue Prince, who took her First Night whilst her Sea Serpent husband was mired in grief over his lost love.
Can Helaena possibly fight her way back to throne, when she must contend with the wishes and proposed betrothals of the Black faction, the distrust and suspicion of her beloved Greens, and worst of all, the apathy of her once-brother, former and (perhaps) future husband, the rightful king, Aegon the Golden?
Can love possibly conquer all, when Helaena isn’t entirely sure that she and her only lover, ever really loved one another at all?

The teary eyes of young Jaehaera, weeping and confused at the loss of her brother.
And Helaena; the grief-stricken gaze his sister-wife was frozen at, as she looked upon the bloodied chambers of their children.
Aegon cannot let this occur.
His children will live. Even if he must kill the Blacks.
