Data's presence is requested on Risa to attend a hearing regarding a series of disturbing charges - damaging a resort, lewd public behaviour, breaking out of custody, and destroying an 11,000 year old relic.
But Data was never on Risa during the time in question. Captain Picard sends a team to investigate.
"They checked in as a Lieutenant Commander Data and a guest. Asked me to secure some Romulan ale," the clerk informed them as he recounted his memories of the mysterious android and his blonde companion.
Data, Geordi, Commander Riker, Worf, and Miles spend several days attempting to piece together what really happened on Risa in an effort to clear Data's name.
Only Lore and Sela were quite busy with their exploits on the infamous pleasure planet.
