Summary
When Harry Kim interacts with an unstable temporal object, he is entangled, problematically, with a historian from the 21st century. Together they must survive as the entanglement tries to correct the error, dragging them through historical periods and forcing them to cooperate.
Through the eyes of a utopian scientist and a grounded historian, this writing explores the idea of what it is to be human in lived experience and real history. They must confront humanity through the eyes of the other, understanding not only what it means, but what it costs to live freely, to believe in systems and watch them fail against tragedy and serendipitous growth. This is a story of connection and transformation; of the shape of returning, changed. An ode to the casualties of understanding someone far removed from yourself, and the fragility of the nurtured mindset in the face of metanoia. The ineffability of losing your home, and finding another in its place. To be human is to pursue connection, meaning, and introspection. It is to love and to learn and to feel, deeply. It is to create and to nurture. It is to form bonds within hardships, and to be indomitable against unbeatable odds. And, as in Star Trek, it is to explore.

Tucking herself under one of Zane’s arms, Sora curled up into his side and gripped tightly onto the front of his gi. “Please,” she croaked out as her throat began to close up. “Please don’t leave me alone, Master Zane.” Childish urges she thought she’d squashed when she was a kid resurfaced and Sora inhaled a shaky breath to keep her tears at bay. She laid her head just by the crook of Zane’s neck and squeezed the fabric in her grip tighter.
Sora shut her eyes tightly and tried to make herself smaller. A whisper fell from her lips, drowning in the darkness of the alleyway.

It is an interesting coincidence that both Erid and Vulcan are based in the same star system, it is also an interesting coincidence that the USS Enterprise and the Hail Mary occupy the same exact physical plane when a transporter incident disappears one Cmdr. S'chan T'gai Spock and Dr. Ryland Grace from their respective ships.

It belied a great skill with Aura manipulation held hand-in-hand with a knowledge of Dust not even Weiss possessed.
“Was that… Consubstantiation?” She asked, eyes narrowed, a hand settling itself gently against her chin. “I haven’t seen that in years… After the SDC reformed their mining practices, Dust was rarely kept in so short a supply the skill was ever required. How did you learn this?”
The Professor simply levied her a raised brow, a small frown coming to rest on his lips.
