Summary
Aerion finished his joust match as before: he killed the horse, injured Ser Humfrey’s leg, and got banned from the tournament. But he was too tired from his father’s lecture to visit the commoners’ markets, so the next day the tournament continued.
He sat in the highborn seats and watched the boring joust.
Now, it wasn’t so boring—when the wooden lance of some stupid inexperienced huge hedge knight came flying toward his father and uncle’s seats. Both were chatting with some lord and unaware until Aerion abruptly pushed them out of danger. The lance struck deep into the prince’s side. Blood was everywhere.
And that stupid knight? He now owes him a massive debt.

Summary
“You have always spoken of it,” said Maekar without looking away. “Blood magic. The old ways.”
Aerion’s pulse quickened, though he kept his expression carefully blank. He could feel it now, that familiar pull beneath his skin, the instinct to lean into his father’s will, uncaring of the consequences. “I have spoken of many things,” he said lightly. “Most of which you have dismissed.”
“I am listening now.”
Aerion tilted his head slightly, studying his father carefully. “And what is it you want to hear?”
Maekar looked away at that, turning his gaze toward the window once more. The firelight flickered faintly across his features, painting them in shifting gold and shadow.
“I am asking you…” His father paused, but didn't turn to face him. "If you can bring him back.”Bookmarked by Heleniope_19

Summary
After the Ashford Meadow's incident, Prince Maekar decreed, on his father's behalf, to marry off his second and only Omega son, Prince Aerion Targaryen, to an Ironborn from the Iron Islands. Through the exchanging of letters with his youngest son, a sorrowful Maekar confessed how deep down he still hoped for Aerion's redemption, hoped that marriage duty would fix him. For Prince Aegon "Egg" Targaryen, it must have been a miraculous marriage blessed by The Drowned God to change his monstrous brother.
To their expectations, Aerion's flame had been allayed. To their unexpectations, Aerion's flame never burned again.
