Derek was going to kill Stiles, he really was.
The kid was a high school student who’d wanted a job that fit around his schedule, and Derek had needed a new open baker from the hours of four to seven am. It had seemed like a good fit in the beginning.
Until a week ago, anyway. Because that was when Stiles had transitioned from listening to music in the kitchen, to gay audio erotica. And Derek couldn’t even fucking call him out on it because he was using a single earbud to indulge his literary fantasies. Nobody with regular human hearing would have a single clue what the kid was up to, so Derek had to pretend he didn’t either. It was hell.

In short, it kinda sucks. Thankfully, he gains some people in his life that make it not suck. Shapeshifters also suck.

Summary
Stiles can't believe his day. It's the anniversary of his mom's death and he has to work. When he's left alone to man the coffee shop a growly customer sets him off and he has a panic attack right there in the middle of the store. Turns out Mr. Eyebrows is Laura's very hot, yet quiet and reserved brother, Derek. Stiles gets to know Derek and likes him, wants to get in his pants, likes him. But Derek's straight, straight as an arrow, or at least Stiles thinks so.

When Stiles starts to get to know Derek he finds that he's not so much grumpy and irritable as he is quiet and riddled with trauma. Stiles still wants him, in any way he can have him. And if that means being Derek's friend, well fuck, he'll be the best friend Derek could ask for.
